RE:       Nominations for Commencement Speakers and Honorary Degree Recipients

We request your assistance in identifying and securing high caliber commencement speakers and/or honorary degree recipients for each 122nd National-Louis University Commencement Ceremony.  In 2008, the ceremonies will be held on the following dates:

 

·          May 30, 2008 – Wisconsin

·          June 6, 2008 – Florida

·          June 14, 2008 – Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C.

·          June 21, 2008  – Chicago Area

 

To aid you in making nominations, the following forms and information can be found on the Commencement Website at: www.nl.edu/commencement.

Honorary Degree Recipient 2008 Nomination Form

 

Please email (commencement@nl.edu), fax (312.261.3092) or mail to Maria Meintanis, Director of Student Life, Chicago Campus, by Monday, March 31, 2008.  If you wish to make more than one nomination, the enclosed forms may be duplicated. The same individual may be the commencement speaker and receive an honorary degree. 

 

Please try to be as detailed as you can in responding to the items and questions as the information you provide is used by the Committee to make their decisions. The nominations group of the Commencement Speaker and Honorary Degree Recipients Committee, which is comprised of representatives from the Faculty Senate, Adjunct Council, Student Government, Public Relations, will review the nominations and make recommendations for both a speaker and honorary degree recipients for each campus.

 

Please note that honorary degree recommendations will be reported to the Faculty Senate and must be sent to the Board of Trustees for approval in March/April 2008.
