Office of School-College Relations

Welcome to the homepage for the Office of School-College Relations, (OSCR) which is responsible for the oversight of all NCE collaborations with area schools and school districts.

The Office of School-College Relations recognizes that school practitioners and university faculty have a mutual responsibility for preparing aspiring educators. We believe that teacher training must include quality teaching experiences in a variety of diverse learning communities. This Office is proud to provide area communities teachers able and willing to promote the highest ideals of the profession.

To better serve our teacher candidates and the schools where they receive their classroom experience, the National College of Education at National-Louis University has established school-university relationships and more formal partnerships. If you are a certified teacher, a principal, a superintendent, a retired teacher, we invite you to join us in a collaborative, proactive, positive and ongoing relationship that will be rewarding for your school, the university, and the profession.

Teacher observations and student teaching, important components of our clinical placement program, are designed to provide teacher candidates with opportunities to view the entire scope of teaching while also fulfilling state certification requirements. These experiences will assist the teacher candidate in developing the skills and confidence necessary for effectiveness in the classroom while, at the same time, participating in the life of the school. This component of the Office of School-College Relations is the chief responsibility of our Clinical Placement staff.
