Elizabeth Peterson

Elizabeth A. Peterson, Ed.D. is an associate professor in the Department of Adult, Continuing and Literacy Education at National-Louis University.  After completing her doctoral studies in adult education at Northern Illinois University, she worked and taught for twelve years in South Carolina. Ten years were spent as a professor of adult education at the University of South Carolina and two years as a research professor at Clemson University. Dr. Peterson has published extensively in the field.  Her dissertation was published as African American Women: A Study of Will and Success and she is the editor of Freedom Road: Adult Education of African Americans.  Dr. Peterson is currently co directs the Gidwitz Center for Urban Policy and Community Development where she has launched an online policy journal, Common Concern.
